Mauritius | Day Seven

Today I really felt appreciation for where I am, who I’m with, and what I’m working towards – it was a great day!

I started the day with coffee and reading a bit of my book ‘The Mountain is You’, then I headed out shopping for groceries and a new bathing suit since I only had one and realize that I more or less live in them here. After that, I returned, made lunch and then swam all afternoon in the pool – occasionally coming to the edge and reading for a bit. I also read some Whitman on my phone and am considering a new Whitman-inspired tattoo…

Anyway, then I cooked some dinner (Chicken with potatoes and carrots) and had some chilled South African white wine as I chatted with some housemates about life. These folks have some incredibly wild stories, but they’re not mine to tell. Overall, it was a good day for me to recenter on why I’m here and work on developing the my sense of community with the other members here. Excited to hike tomorrow morning so getting to sleep a bit early tonight. Goodnight!
